Background:

This is a critical moment in the negotiations of the Pandemic Accord (CA+), with Member States meeting in November to discuss the proposed negotiation text. With the aim of supporting civil society and community engagement, the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ)  and the Global Health Law Consortium  (GHLC) will host a  discussion on this text, sharing an in-depth human rights analysis and exploring how this analysis can inform upcoming negotiations to secure a human rights-based Pandemic Accord.

This discussion arises from the Civil Society Alliance for Human Rights in the Pandemic Treaty (CSA) an informal, open group of organizations and individual experts working to mainstream human rights considerations in the negotiations of the Pandemic Treaty or Accord by the WHO Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB), as well as in related processes in the field of governing pandemic preparedness and response (PPR).  This event represents the opinions and positions of the organizations and individuals listed, and not that of the Civil Society Alliance for Human Rights in the Pandemic Treaty (CSA) as a whole.
