INB Drafting Group Meeting

The Drafting Group of the International Negotiating Body (INB) for a Pandemic Accord is convening in Geneva. This meeting is a closed meeting, with no participation from Civil Society or other observers, and no public webcast. Obviously, this is concerning to Civil society and communities and goes against the principles of meaningful engagement. Participants in this meeting are Member States, Associate Members, regional economic integration organisations, and observer delegations of Palestine and the Holy See.   They will discuss six issues or articles, all of which have been the subject of contention.

Articles 4 (Pandemic prevention and public health surveillance) and 5 (Strengthening pandemic prevention and preparedness through a One Health approach) • Article 11 (Co-development and transfer of technology and know-how) will be discussed on the 4th. • Article 9 (Research and development) • Article 13 (Supply chain and logistics) • Article 12 (Access and benefit-sharing) will be discussed on the 5th, and • Article 12 (Access and benefit-sharing) on the 6th, as well as next steps and reporting.
